(site choked on my less than character)

...less than regfee to another, as indicated in your example. It's frustrating, but it comes with the territory. I do like to look back at the sales threads from years ago and those true premium sales that took place are always interesting to reflect back on the state of where things were and the values placed at the time.
Making it easy to sift would make everyone a miner ;)

I could have sworn I replied to this earlier but alas nothing was posted from this end.
Thank you for the suggestion Ahmed, and you raise some very good points. Beauty is certainly in the of the beholder. A domain name that's premium to someone may be worth

The thing is Nick - one man's crap is another man's treasure. Hell - I've been registered on SPF for almost 7 years, and I've *always* seen a fair amount of crap.

The $500 fee makes people stop. Are you going to really post a crap proxy or directory site when you would be out $500? I'm sure in 99% of cases it would be a big fat ... no.

If you take a second and remember what Sitepoint was a few years ago before they went into their eBay like atmosphere, the sales were of much higher quality sites and the whole marketplace was great.

Now, it's full of almost all crap (proxies, directories, video sites, myspace), not to mention the huge influx of fraudulent bidders.

It's a big mess and someone needs to set a new standard. Increasing the listing price to $500 is a little much and whose to say the quality of sites will increase? Just take a look at their Premium Site Marketplace....people are trying to sell those gimmick "I've made $5,000 a month working from home" sites for like $500,000.

I think the best option is to not allow sites that are bringing down the marketplace and have someone monitoring that section.

I've wasted my share of money trying to sell sites because my site is buried within the crap of Sitepoint and they honestly don't care because it's money in the bank to them.
